The Community and Built Infrastructure Department facilitates the development of integrated strategies and programmes that promote the wellbeing and quality of life of citizens and communities throughout Kerry. It manages a number of Rural Grant Schemes and the Community Support Fund, ensuring funding is targeted to support planned developments which meet the needs of the broader community. The development of strong communities, across Kerry, is at the core of the work of the Community Department.
The Department also oversees the management, operation and marketing of Kerry County Council’s tourism built infrastructure which includes the Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre, Blennerville Windmil, Kerry County Museum and the Killarney Sports & Leisure Centre.
